Last Friday I discovered Bailey Gibson! How can I have lived in Dublin for nearly four years and not known this place?! I rarely get excited, but this place is really something special: Three warehouses filled with furniture, props, building material, and items that are much harder to classify. I am sure if you wanted to, you could renovate an entire house with the materials from there, as well as furnish it. Chairs in all shapes and sizes, couches, travel trunks, fireplaces, traffic lights, doors, toilets, a court room, several bars, an organ and countless other objects. What a goldmine for set designers. But also very dangerous: I think it could lead you and your design down a path that might not serve ever play, as in: you might loose your original goal and concept out of sight. Apparently the land these warehouses stand on has been sold, which either means that it will relocate or stop to exist in the near future. I really hope it is the former. Now that I have discovered it I really don't want to have to be without it...
